CELLULAR AUTOMATA MODELLING
Cellular Automata Models are an innovative solution for the numerical simulation of natural events characterized by a fluid-dynamic behaviour (debris-flows, snow avalanches, lava flows etc). These models, which have been developed by some researchers of the Università della Calabria with the collaboration of NHAZCA experts, are able to predict the effects of such natural events and their impact on human activities. These models have been tested by NHAZCA to different types of events such as subaerial and submarine landslides, snow avalanches. They can be used to predict the evolution of single events or to perform susceptibility analysis over large areas. NHAZCA provides advanced consulting service by the application of these models.
