NHAZCA at the 69th Highway Geology Symposium

NHAZCA S.r.l. will exhibit at the 69th Highway Geology Symposium (Portland Maine, USA, 10-13 September), one of the most important international meetings on the highway industry. Come to visit us at our booth and learn more about the most innovative monitoring solutions for transportation network in complex geological and geomorphological environments.

Do not miss the talk of our CEO Paolo Mazzanti titled "PhotoMonitoringTM of Landslides" (Tuesday, September 11, 11:20-11:40 AM), about the role of PhotoMonitoringTM techniques for the assessment and monitoring of natural hazards affecting the transportation network.

Engineering Geology for a Sustainable World

NHAZCA is sponsoring the 61st AEG Annual Meeting/13th IAEG Congress in San Francisco, California on September 17-21, 2018 (booth #216)!

During the event, Paolo Mazzanti will held a talk about "The 2015 Scillato Landslide (Sicily, Italy): deformational behavior inferred by Satellite & Terrestrial SAR Interferometry".

The Scillato landslide (10th April 2015) had a great impact for the transportation network, causing the collapse of the Imera viaduct (Catania-Palermo Highway) and severely damaging an important connection road.

After the landslide event, a monitoring plan aimed at ensuring the safety conditions during the remediation works has been developed. Among the activities, a real time continuous monitoring with Terrestrial SAR Interferometry (TInSAR) technique has been activated, in order to control the deformational behavior of the slope and main structures and to provide an alert system.

In addition, satellite A-DInSAR (Advanced Differential SAR Interferometry) technique has been applied to better understand the pre-failure deformational behavior of the slope.

Have a look at our new paper: "Imaging Multi-Age Construction Settlement Behaviour by Advanced SAR Interferometry

The paper is focused on the application of Satellite SAR Interferometry to subsidence-related issues, with particular reference to ground settlements due to external loads.
