During the event, Paolo Mazzanti will held a talk about "The 2015 Scillato Landslide (Sicily, Italy): deformational behavior inferred by Satellite & Terrestrial SAR Interferometry".

The Scillato landslide (10^th April 2015) had a great impact for the transportation network, causing the collapse of the Imera viaduct (Catania-Palermo Highway) and severely damaging an important connection road.

After the landslide event, a monitoring plan aimed at ensuring the safety conditions during the remediation works has been developed. Among the activities, a real time continuous monitoring with Terrestrial SAR Interferometry (TInSAR) technique has been activated, in order to control the deformational behavior of the slope and main structures and to provide an alert system.

In addition, satellite A-DInSAR (Advanced Differential SAR Interferometry) technique has been applied to better understand the pre-failure deformational behavior of the slope.
