The research project on the use of Remote Sensing for the management of natural hazards in Vietnam has been successfully completed

The research project “Fundamental research and propose early-warning solution for landslide, flash flood – debris flood in North of Vietnam by remote sensing technology and geology data” between NHAZCA and the Institute of Geological Sciences at the Academy of Science and Technology in Hanoi (Vietnam) has been recently concluded.

As part of the project, a continuous monitoring campaign for a period of 4 months using Terrestrial SAR Interferometry (TInSAR) has been carried out for the first time in the Country. The main goal of the campaign has been the displacement monitoring of a landslide affecting a rural village in Northern Vietnam.

The project activities has been included scientific and technological cooperation between the teams involved, mobility of researchers as well as frequent technical field inspections.
