Celebrating a Decade of Excellence: The 10th Edition of the International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring (ICGSM)

A Decade of Innovation in Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring amid educational activities, field trips, live demos and extraordinarily successful partnerships.

We are thrilled to announce the milestone 10th edition of the International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring (ICGSM), scheduled to take place in Golden, Colorado, USA, from June 11th to 14th, 2024. This special edition will commemorate the 10th anniversary of ICGSM with a memorable event in the country where the idea of ICGSM was first conceived by John Dunnicliff and Prof. Paolo Mazzanti.

Since 2014, ICGSM has been recognized as a must-attend event, offering a unique networking and educational opportunity for professionals, academics, and industry experts in the field of geotechnical and structural monitoring. The past editions, held every year from 2014 to 2023, have attracted more than 700 participants from 60 countries in six continents. More than 50 companies that manufacture hardware, software and provide services for geotechnical and structural monitoring have taken advantage of the ICGSMs to showcase their products.

The 10th International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring will provide invaluable training for geologists, engineers, and industry professionals. The program is designed to offer participants and exhibitors a comprehensive overview of the most intriguing topics and applications in the field of geotechnical and structural monitoring.

The course will span three days of masterclasses, starting with an overview of geotechnical and structural monitoring to ensure a thorough understanding of subsequent course topics. The sessions will cover:

  • Monitoring of static and dynamic deformations using contact and remote sensing monitoring systems.
  • Groundwater and surface water monitoring.
  • Data analysis, from transmission to interpretation.
  • Data analysis on emerging trends, including monitoring through innovative platforms and technologies.
  • Monitoring applications, including landslides, linear infrastructures (railways, bridges, tunnels, roads, runways), natural resources (dams, mines, pipelines, wind turbines, geothermal fields, oil and gas extraction).

The event will also include a field trip on the last day to one of the facilities managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, as well as the ICGSM EXPO 2024. During the EXPO, participants will have the opportunity to interact with event sponsors, expand their business networks, and stay updated with the latest technologies on the market. It will also be a great opportunity for companies in the sector to expand their network.

Don’t miss out on this unparalleled opportunity to engage with experts, explore innovative solutions, and celebrate a decade of advancements in geotechnical and structural monitoring at the 10th ICGSM!
